                 How can you get involved in the Legislative Process?  

1.    Let us know who you know on the state and federal level by completing the Legislator Survey.
2.   Invite your Legislator to attend the SD Insurance Agents Coalition Social with Legislators on February 3, 2015.
3.   Attend the Legislative Day in Pierre on February 7, 2017,
4.   Participate in your town hall meeting with Legislators
5.   Attend the NAIFA Congressional Conference in May 23-24, 2017 in Washington, DC.  See naifa.org for details. 

      Registration is open.
6.   Participant in the weekly Legislative Conference calls that will begin at 12:00pm CT.  These calls will continue

      every Friday as needed.  You will receive an email with call-in instructions and a Legislative Update before the    

      call.














NAIFA-SD is a leader in protecting its members' interests

  • NAIFA-SD advocates statewide for positive and progressive legislative and regulatory action on behalf of the financial services industry and profession while promoting the best interests of the general public.
  • NAIFA advocates its members' interests at the federal level.
  • Through its 9 local associations' political involvement committees, NAIFA-SD has developed a strong grass-roots network of legislative contacts.
  • IFAPAC-SD, the organization's political action committee, provides a method for members of the association to give financial support to candidates for the state House and Senate.
  • Members are encouraged to become active in local political campaigns, attend Legislator meetings, and become involved in the association's legislative activities.
  • NAIFA-SD's local associations sponsor Legislator Meetings in December to provide a forum for member interaction with state lawmakers and congressional staff.
  • NAIFA-SD invites its members to travel to Pierre each February for the Day on the Hill and Legislative Social held in conjunction with the South Dakota Insurance Agent Coalition members South Dakota Fraternal Alliance and the South Dakota Fraternal Insurance Counselors.
  • NAIFA-SD also provides opportunities for members to ask questions of and get the latest information from SD Insurance Department officials on the regulatory issues that affect their business during the Annual Convention.
